About Us

Where It all began

We’re three friends from Yorkshire, shaped by the outdoors and fuelled by adventure. For nearly a decade, hammocks have been at the centre our best wild camping trips in the UK, from weekends in the Lake District to spontaneous forest sleepouts in Snowdonia with our friends.

After years of breaking and buying almost every camping hammock on offer, we were shocked at how poor some of the options were. We were left disappointed after having some immediate fails from big outdoor brands, and we believed we could do better!

Our Frustration fuelled us to design the best wild camping hammock on the market. Built on Experience with comfort in mind. Reliable in all conditions from the mountains to your mates garden.

Born On the Beaches of Asia

After exploring every corner of the UK with our hammocks, we set off on a backpacking trip through Southeast Asia chasing our dreams on a shoestring budget. With limited space in our rucksacks, we each packed a lightweight travel hammock, hoping it would help us skip expensive accommodation.

It paid off. Big time.

We slept for free in stunning locations like Koh Tao and Koh Rong, some of the most sought-after (and overpriced) stops on the Southeast Asia backpacking trail. Between palm trees and ocean views, our hammocks became more than just camping gear — they became our homes.

While hostels were packed and noisy, we had the freedom to wild camp in paradise, suspended between two trees, surrounded by nothing but waves and stars.

The Gap in Quality and Experience

The more we travelled, the more obvious the problem became. The hammocks we were using couldn’t keep up.

We’d tested nearly every camping hammock on the market — between us and our friends, nothing was off-limits. The cheap ones were flimsy and lacked bug nets. The premium options looked great on the shelf, but often lacked comfort, durability, and two of them ripped on the first use!

Some were so overhyped they made the budget models seem like a better choice.

There was a clear gap between quality gear and the kind of wild camping hammock we actually needed.

So we built it ourselves.

We sketched the flaws, listed the non negotiables, and pulled from years of experience. Our goal was simple: to create a durable, portable hammock that was strong, compact, and ready for any terrain. It had to work in forests, on beaches, in gardens, and on the move.

That’s how the Two Trees Hammock came to life.

The adventures continue

When our first Two Trees hammock prototypes arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, we knew we were onto something special. The larger sleeping system, external gear pockets, integrated mosquito net and compressible storage bag were exactly what we had envisioned after years of wild camping.

But it wasn’t perfect yet.

We wanted to create the best hammock for all conditions, and deep down we knew we could take it further. With funds running low and the three of us travelling in different parts of the world, the project had to be paused.

A year later, we reunited. After months of using both prototypes across beaches, jungles, mountains and gardens, we had gathered everything we needed to improve.

The biggest issue? Mosquitoes.

The original single-layer nylon was too thin, letting bugs bite through from underneath. We fixed it by adding a second layer, making the hammock warmer, more secure, and creating a slot for optional insulation. We reinforced the mosquito netting with extra stitching and added an internal valuables pocket.

Now it was complete. A reliable, strong and comfortable double-layer travel hammock that could handle any adventure.

This was the product we had always needed. And now, it was finally ready to share with the world.
